This Week’s Tweeted Writing Prompts (September 21-27)

Poetry

Monday: Write a descriptive poem about the first bite of creme brulee.
Tuesday:  Find inspiration in a John Williams composition.
Wednesday:  It’s the Fall Equinox! Write a cinquain about the seasonal transition.
Thursday: Craft an aubade for your favourite childhood toy.
Friday: Take sixteen lines to describe a moment of overwhelming stress
Saturday: What does fall taste like? Craft a free verse in honour of the season.
Sunday: Write a couplet reacting to the first chill of the morning.

 

Fiction

Monday: As the sun rises, two people sit on the rooftop.  Why are they there?  Fill in the blanks.
Tuesday: Prepare for the holiday with by explaining the history of a made up holiday in 400 words.
Wednesday: Write a monologue for one person in a confessional.
Thursday: Transform a scene from a movie you saw recently into a prose piece.
Friday:  Another Flash Fiction Friday!  When a garbage man finds gold on his route, what does he do with it?
Saturday: Craft a character study about a man with a stutter. What caused it?
Sunday: Take twenty minutes to free write about a Quixotic adventure.
