This Week’s Tweeted Writing Prompts (August 24-30)

Poetry

Monday: Write a poem inspired by the phrase ” One and only.”
Tuesday: #haikucommute–describe the most delectable fruit you can imagine.
Wednesday: Write an elegy about a dream you have long since forgotten.
Thursday: How well are your descriptors? Choose a noun. Write a four stanza poem to describe it without using the word.
Friday:  Beg, Borrow, Steal: Find inspiration in a Noah Falck poem for today’s project.–>ow.ly/RvhM0
Saturday:  Craft an didactic peom regarding sacrifice. Kipling’s “If” is a great example.
Sunday: Write a poem about what’s hidden in your tea leaves.

Fiction

Monday: Write a short piece inspired by Bonnie Tyler’s “I need a Hero”
Tuesday: A young man accidentally sets a house on fire. What happens next?
Wednesday: Draft a story that reads like a baking recipe.
Thursday: Find a piece of pop art to inspire a 300 word piece.
Friday: Another#FlashfictionFriday! It’s three in the morning and the party’s over. The Room’s empty. What now?
Saturday: Write a short about a young child who gets lost inside their grandmother’s purse.
Sunday: Schedule 20 minutes to free write about the past weeks events.
