After failing to secure a copy of said book at AWP, a certain TSHS member requested a copy of Matthew Zapruder‘s latest from Inter-Library Loan, then walked all the way home engrossed in its pages. Here is a three-sentence review:
All the gusto and friendliness of another Matthew (Dickman), with the heart and surrealism of an entirely original source. This collection communicates the only breed of sincerity that’s allowed these days, and is therefore wonderfully effective. Favorite lines of favorite poem “Schwinn” read: “Do you remember/ how easy and sad it was to be young/ and defined by our bicycles?”
Well, do you? Then buy this book, seriously.
